Use Judgement. There are many Florida laws pertaining to the collection of fossils and artifacts, a hobby many of us dedicate LOTS of time and money into. Unless you are only hunting shark teeth, USE a properly permited guide. NO permit is required for collection of shark teeth, but its a great idea anyway! it promotes ethical collectiong and cataloging of intristing specimens, and it helps track the # of people interested in our hobby.Permits are required for fossil collection, or other teeth not shark related. Permits are relatively inexpensive and simple to obtain. Under the current law, in lieu of the old " isolated finds", IT is now ILLEGAL to colect ANY artifacts of arrowheads from any public land. IT IS NOT WORHT THE RISK! PERIOD.
